How do I start a field?

Here are five things that can be done to bring Fields of Faith to your area.

  1. Check the website to see if there is a Field already organized in your area. Use the
find a field tool. Sometimes it makes sense to have multiple fields in an area and some times it's better to concentrate your efforts on one field.
  2. Who are you?
    1. Student - A high school student interested in learning about the event.
    2. Student Leader - A high school student looking to fill a leadership position and/or give a student testimony.
    3. Adult Leader - An involved parent, teacher, coach, graduate or local college student who wants to get involved in bringing this event to your local school.
    4. Youth Pastor - A pastor from a local church or maybe an FCA staff person who can provide biblical leadership and assist with the student leader testimonies.
    5. Parent - Are you a parent who is just looking to learn more about the event.
  3. Contact the local FCA staff person. They may not have all the answers, but it's good to let them know you are planning to do this event. They can help find resources and get in touch with people who can help.
  4. The leadership team. This team, in an ideal situation, will have student leaders, youth pastor(s), "go-to" parents, teachers, or coaches and FCA volunteers.
  5. Just because you don't have an FCA doesn't mean you can't have a field! There was no FCA at a particular High School so a Young Life group wanted to put an event on. They brought Fields of Faith to their campus and it was a huge success.

It's important to read the content on the website and remember there is no single way to bring this event to your area. Different problems call for different solutions.
